Cisco Marketing Velocity Voice Homepage Optimisation

My first step in UX design and Figma

Problem

Many new contents are published daily, but the most important content is easily buried. New users have difficulty kicking off with the platform and getting the key message in a short time.

Question

How can users get the key message in less than 3 minutes daily?

The original design

The homepage features three sections: What's New, Topic, and Activity, organised chronologically. A daily bonus area above Activity rewards users with bonuses for daily clicks and completing challenges like surveys, redeemable for Cisco merchandise.

However, the latest content may not be the most crucial, requiring users to scan through items to find daily highlights, which can reduce motivation and cause confusion.

*Due to privacy reasons, all the names and icons are hidden.

Idea

Why don’t we create a box where we can put the key messages under the spotlight and utilise the bonus concept?

So here it comes, The Interactive Box (temporary name).

The box on the right-hand side provides the key message interactively. Editors can bring the message across in an interesting, small-bites approach. Below is an example of one of the ways to utilise this box. By answering the questions, users will learn more about the Partner Summit 2020 and eventually be led to a registration button at the end. By completing the questions, users can even get extra bonuses.

Example 1:

The contents of the box don’t always need to be serious. It can also be something fun and relaxing but leads back to one of the new challenges of the week.

Examples 2:

Besides, it can also be used to showcase a word cloud freshly generated based on users’ real-time feedback to create a stronger sense of community.

Examples 3:

The above examples are the more standard ways to use it. There are so many more creative ways to play around with it, waiting to be discovered.

The suggestion was adopted and brought to the external agency for further development.
